My use of online interactive resource is based on a 10 year journey begun in the Spring of 1998. This year I meant not to partake in any online groups or online activities but with Fast Company launching this year, it served as an interuption and between end of May and mid July I have made direct contributions.  I also have utilized an online pseudonym which represents the branded self, which was created when as visceral and personal reaction to Tom Peters launch of Brand You some 8 or 9 years ago.  That pseudonym is also being retired this year.  I have maintained the objective of remaining offline at the main online site I usually frequent, which suffice to say is set up again for my personal and self-development use.  My use of online resource there and here is for self-development purposes only and uses an exploratory method called "Explorative Thinking", and this is further supported by an emergent offline system I have created - beyond that, I write to explore rather than to be read, which is the same principle outlined in a response on the Cluetrain Topica list in 1999.  The reason this process is emergent is that I naturally think out aloud and if cyberspace is seen by some as a global brain, then this venture appears (at least for the last decade) to be a compatible one.  I dislike rating and recommendation systems and any recommendations I make are solely indicating that I personally learned something and not an approval.  I accept the Jiddu Krishnamurti attitude, discover "WHAT IS" yourself and stop being blind followers of others.  It is important to have a good sense of humour, unless we are laughing simply to avoid misery, the connection between humour and happiness therefore is one that today appears to be broken.  To connect it I believe we need to develop a good sense of our own selves, or as Socrates put it, to make an effort, to "KNOW THYSELF", my explorations online are one such personal effort.  I will now endeavour to remain offline until the end of the year, and thus serve my original purpose that I set for myself at the beginning of this year.
