I like to play in the space where excellent ideas can take action in very practical ways. That approach has guided my career, sometimes taking me more deeply into the "idea" business (that's why the stint as an editor at Harvard Business Review, and occasional fits of writing articles, columns and a book), and more often into the "practitioner" role (working as a hands-on consultant with a portfolio of clients in virtually every industry from financial services to pharmaceuticals to Big Oil to publishing, and so on). I like to help organizations needing to change and innovate to develop leadership on the full spectrum from the individual person to the team to the business unit to the enterprise. My clients in recent years have included Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, ADIA, Dubai Holding, Novartis, Verizon, and Nokia.
