A Co-Founder of the Charlottesville Company of Friends as well as Envirian of Charlottesville’s Principal Broker/Owner Drake Van de Castle, ABR, e-Pro, is known in the local real estate community as being a dynamic REALTOR® who provides his clients with exceptional personalized service and is highly respected by fellow REALTORS® and industry professionals alike. Van de Castle draws on his eight years of record-setting sales and his myriad leadership experiences. At the local level, Van de Castle was Chair of the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS® (CAAR) Membership Committee in 2006 and will serve as a member of its Leadership and its Work Force Housing Committees in 2007. Previously, he has held many other volunteer positions with CAAR. In 2000, he was named “Rookie of the Year” by CAAR, and in 2001, he was the recipient of the CAAR President’s Award for exemplary service to the REALTOR® and Charlottesville community in 2002. In addition, he was one of the first receipents of the CAAR Community Partner Award in 2003. At the State level, Van de Castle, currently serves on the Virginia Association of REALTORS® (VAR) Professional Development Advocacy Group. A graduate of first VAR’s Leadership Academy, he is past Chair of VAR’s Information Management Advocacy Group and its 2005 Strategic Plan and Agency Services Work Groups. For the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), Van de Castle shares his expertise as a current member of its Education Committee and he has been a member of the Business Issues Committee and Communications Committee. On a more personal level, Van de Castle, played soccer for Roanoke College and coached men’s soccer at Missouri State University, where he also graduated with a BS in 1994. He is a long-time resident of Albemarle County and lives here with his wife Teresa and son Bryce.
