Bio

I am currently a blogger for Scholastic.com Global Education Network (GEN) which was a project that was funded by Allen and Co. to become the first online "Ivy League" institution. I was responsible for designing interactive multimedia university courses in Flash. I developed, organized production, and supervised a team of animators, editors, camera people and video engineers in the creation these courses. As a part of the development team I produced courses ranging from Calculus to History courses many included multiple hours of Flash animation, thousands of historic images, many hours of historic video footage. Each course contained over 20 hours of lecture footage featuring professors from Harvard, Cornell, Brown and other prestigious universities. While at GEN, I was promoted to Regional Enrollment Director, where I lead the development of the GEN's marketing effort. Part of my responsibilities included training the sales staff in GEN pedagogy and methodology, as well, as marketing for video, web and print. In 2005 I completed a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology and Media from Columbia University, Teachers College. While completing my Masters Degree I was awarded a Technology Fellowship. As a Technology Fellow I was challenged to train professors in the implementation educational technology in the classroom and online multimedia portfolio development. Immediately following the completion of my M.A. I was hired as the Instructional Designer for BMW Group University Studios (Team Productions) which is located within the BMW Group of North America's (BMWNA) national headquarters. As the Instructional Designer for BMW Group University Studios I developed and wrote scripts for a variety of types of video programming ranging from consumer programming for BMWNA's website to internal training programs delivered through BMW University's online portal. While at the Sundance Channel, as Senior Producer of The Green, presented by Robert Redford, I led the development of a sustainable lifestyle oriented portal. As a part of this project I developed the community by creating an area called the Eco-mmunity, the first map-based social network. This community was developed around the environmental issues highlighted in the Sundance Channel's programming while reaching the goals of the project's sponsors; Lexus and Smith Barney. I also supervised the development of all online videos for the site. See the Press Releases for more detailed info. Examples of the videos David produced for the site can be seen on his portfolio site's Video Page. I am currently the Senior Producer of the Teacher Channel at Scholastic.com where I am currently developing the Teacher community, see my Portfolio for more info on all of the projects highlighted in this bio.
