Overview... Having successfully set up and developed several companies, I have been immersed in the dynamics of business, especially the design sector for over 12 years. With the proven entrepreneurial, management, leadership and team-motivational abilities that come from running your own business, the sum of my career has given me strength of direction and problem-solving, but uniquely informed by in-depth practical knowledge of the commercial and technical issues behind running any modern day organisation. Having recently sold my latest company via a management buyout I now focus my time in two directions. The first as a Non-Executive Director and Mentor to business owners, leaders and directors helping create and execute strategies for sustaining profitable growth and to develop innovative products and services to push their organisations forward. Mentoring in a very much hands on way and with a down to earth approach I provide leaders with that all important second opinion, voice of reason and expert view. Helping them work on their business not in it, sometimes confirming what they know to be true or helping unearth the brutal facts. I do this by helping people see the wood for the trees, by bringing clarity and direction to businesses and teams. As well as being a successful entrepreneur and director I’m also an expert in creative thinking, design, and innovation and over the past decade have worked with some of the best known high street brands. Approach… My philosophy is simple but fundamental; listen to what makes a client's business and its customer’s tick - to where they are and where they want to be. Then help create a compelling vision to outline what the company wants to achieve, why and how. I believe excellence in direction and leadership comes from immersing yourself in a company and its team and being able to switch into the relevant and specific perspectives. Informed thinking can identify and solve issues with creative thinking then delivering viable strategies that create true points of difference. I also believe that business as usual doesn’t cut it anymore and creativity and innovation are mindsets not just for design departments or agencies. Organisations as a whole have to embrace these new perspectives to maintain competitive advantage and work towards the future!
