Owner / Partner, Artful Communications PR Consulting
Private, Sole Proprietor employees, Marketing / PR / Advertising industryIn the fall of 2005, I moved my 17 + years of Public Relations experience into my own PR consulting firm.
I combine traditional PR techniques with a web-savy PR tool kit to create and enhance the relationship between my client and their customers, clients and audiences.
I work with small businesses and solopreneurs, authors and speakers, non-profits and travel/tourism companies/ attractions on a variety of projects. I handle larger projects from crafting a PR/media strategy for an upcoming season of events, or a major exhibition, to revamping a visitor guide publication.
I also handle smaller projects like tweaking a blog's landing page or revamping a website's homepage. I write copy that balances several goals: hitting the right keywords to capture organic search engine traffic, articulating the company/ organization's story, and motivating readers to take action.
One favorite skill is pitching stories. I love researching the right publication, finding the right editor/writer/ blogger/ reporter, and crafting an angle that will pique their interest in running a story.
I also help out (often overworked) in-house PR staff members, who just can't seem to get to those one or two projects that are always on the list, but seem to never quite get done. They are usually good ideas, but something that seems more urgent often takes priority. I serve as an extra pair of knowledgeable hands.
Owner / Partner, Web Savvy PR
Private, Sole Proprietor employees, Marketing / PR / Advertising industryWeb Savvy PR brings new media tools to the traditional Public Relations toolkit to help businesses, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations hammer out a better blog, expand their brand, and build their business with style.
I bring more than 17 years of traditional PR experience to the table, combined with an intense exploration of new media tools. I've spent the last year or so steeping myself in the Web 2.0 culture of blogs, RSS feeds, social networking, social bookmarking, twitter etc.
I'm building a niche in "PR 2.0" - leveraging this new version of 24-7 online networking environment (creating online relatiosnships and conversations using various internet tools and sites) with more traditional Public Relations tools. Still with the same goals of balancing my client's needs with the needs / interests of each blogger, journalist, editor or producer to get the word out about what my clients do to the right audience.
From creating and executing a full PR campaign for an upcoming exhibition or event, new book release or new service offering; to crafting a blog strategy (answering the questions: should I blog, what are my bloggin goals, what should it look like - and "how do I attract an audience once I have a blog");
from writing a dynamic press release to designing a new-media release;
from identifying and pitching the right contact, at the right publication or media outlet, with the right timing, hook and story - to building a relationship with a blogger in your niche and intriguing them enough to check ot your product, service or event and maybe pass it along to their readers,
Web Savvy PR is ready to go. experience + creativity = results, in my book, that's a winning combination.
