Deadbeat - We did Internet work for bay view law to hide all their complaints and they screwed us too. scumbags.Deadbeat - Bayviewlaw.com Alcohol consumption, cell phone use, drowsy driving, aggressive driving, and drugged driving are all important but preventable causes of traffic accidents, injuries and deaths. There has been a dramatic and continuing drop in alcohol-related traffic crashes, but much more needs to be done to prevent drunk driving, Administrative License Suspension: A law that allows the prompt suspension of the license of drivers charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) when a driver has a BAC above the prescribed limit, or sometimes if a driver refuses to take a roadside blood or breath test. Thus the license may be suspended before adjudication of the DWI charge. Doug Crowder The American Motorists Association says it's time to put an end to what it considers a deliberate campaign of misinformation. Therefore, the Association, in collaboration with others, is offering $20,000 to the first person who can substantiate the NHTSA-MADD claim that 42 percent of all traffic fatalities, 17,970 people, were caused by drunk drivers in 2002. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) revoked Keith Emrich’s license because he was reported by a physician as having a medical condition that could impair his driving ability. That medical condition is substance abuse according to PennDOT. Every state has some sort of “drunk driving” statute. The term “drunk driving” is in quotes because none of these laws require that you be “drunk” or “intoxicated” to be guilty. All that is required is that your ability to operate a vehicle has been impaired to any extent at all or that your Blood alcohol level exceeds the state limit (which is now .08% in all states). Some states call it DUI (Driving Under the Influence), but it refers to the same offense. The consequences of DWI differ drastically from state to state and are influenced by your age, blood alcohol limit (BAC), whether you have been arrested for DWI in the past, and whether you caused injury or death during the DWI. Doug Crowder "Impaired driving can be defined as a reduction in the performance of critical driving tasks due to the effects of alcohol or other drugs. It is a serious crime that kills every 30 minutes." -- NHTSA definition, from the NHTSA web site. 2 Most police officers pull over a driver based on probable cause. Probable cause simply means that sufficient facts and circumstances exist to allow a reasonable person to believe a crime has been or is being committed. Common examples that give a police officer probable cause are simple traffic violations: speeding, running a red light, failing to signal a turn and failing to completely stop at a stop sign. Although these offenses might seem minor, they are crimes nonetheless and give police officers ample reason to pull over a driver. Mothers Against Drunk Driving, formed in 1980 by mothers whose sons and daughters had been killed or injured in car accidents involving drunk drivers, led us as a nation to be tougher and more vigilant about the dangers of driving after drinking. To do something about the random killing on the road by drunks, whatever their age, required - and still requires - a massive and relentless effort to improve our policing, our judging, our punishing, and our educating of drivers tempted to drive after drinking.
