Bio

I'm a young professional who likes to wear many hats. I'm currently a "Jane of all trades" for one of my family's small businesses, which means I focus on everything from marketing and sales to web development and business process to long-term strategic planning.

Past job titles tend to place me in the marketing category, but communications and marketing are really a means to an end for me. It has just been the best place for me to have an impact on what really drives me: organizational development, knowledge development and collaboration/exchange... all in the hopes of making a positive, sustainable difference in the world (or my small part of it).

I'm a longtime believer in the potential of online media and tools to redefine work. Besides employing online strategies in my small business setting, I love helping nonprofits discover how they can use the web to improve their work, achieve their mission, and better engage audiences. I serve on the following boards/commissions: League of Women Voters Grand Rapids, Michigan Women's Foundation, and Michigan Women's Commission.

Areas of expertise

Strategic communications planning and implementation, research, project management, content development, online media, nonprofit planning and communications, small business communications
