Most real estate agents and brokers today have a website. Here is the big problem - most real estate web sites don't offer any real value to consumers. You know it and I know, consumers are "hardwired" to use the Internet to search for homes and to gather information. With information overload so prevalent, how is your website or blog suppose to help home buyers and sellers accomplish their goals. It's pretty simple... focus on them and not on yourself. Offer the Internet Empowered Consumer better tools to search with and provide digestable information about your area or niche without any strings attached. Do that and they will see the "value" in your website or blog and reach out to you.

Everyone in the real estate industry agrees that in today’s market, be it hot or be it cold, for first-time buyers or luxury vacation home buyers, a Realtor must have a website to be competitive. But that’s about the only thing there’s agreement on. The sometimes conflicting information that is available gives the impression that how to go about developing an effective web presence is open to interpretation. Do a little research and it quickly becomes evident there are as many opinions about what defines a “good” website (and plenty of self-proclaimed experts to offer them) as there are pages on the Internet.

My role at Dakno Marketing is to offer time-tested strategies to make your website or blog work better, interact with your site visitors and engage them in a conversation that ultimately postiions you as the local expert. If you do that without holding them hostage for their email address and phone number, consumers will see the value in a relationship with you once the conversation has begun.
