Bio

Shonika Proctor is a Generation X Creative Thought Leader and Teen Business Coach.

In 1993 Shonika took a summer job at her neighborhood wireless company helping people to fix their wireless problems. Little did she know that 15 years later she would still be working in the industry, but instead, helping to 'fix people' with wireless [addiction] problems :). Her understanding of how to teach technophobic users along with her uncanny knack for creating effective and resourceful right brain solutions for the most challenging left brained problems led to the creation of her Signature 'Ebb & Flow On the Go' Training Series. This series of training programs emcompasses all kinds of offbeat but practical and holistic topics from "How to Detox From Your BlackBerry" to "And Zen Again".

In the meantime and in between time, to detox from her own high tech lifestyle Shonika started mentoring youth who had completed an entrepreneurship program through NFTE (National Foundation For Teaching Entrepreneurship). They were out in the real world away from their secure network and wondering what to do next. Shonika originally started mentoring 1 youth entrepreneur, which turned to 2, which turned to 5, which turned to 8 :) Some students were from the NFTE program, others were just interested in entrepreneurship. Needless to say it became confusing and overwhelming working with multiple students who were working in multiple stages of their businesses, so they collectively began to brainstorm ways to better organize their mentoring sessions. What started as email and phone conversations evolved to e-mentoring via Skype with a webcam complete with Focus Lists to eventually a full Teen Business E-Coaching Program and Internet video series. Realizing that the needs of teens and young people from economically challenged neighborhoods (primary target group) were vastly different of most adults and/or working professionals, the group was affectionately named the 'Renegade CEO's'. Their tagline also supported their business culture and defined their driving motivation, 'Challenge not the limits of society but the limits of onself.'

About the Renegade CEO's Teen Business E-Coaching Series:

Inspired and created by youth for youth, this internet 'reality' series follows the real life entrepreneurial start up adventures of a motley crew of urban pioneering CEO's ages 11-19 years old. Tired of old school business idealogies and lack of approachable role models, with the help of their adviser, they have the time of their life while pursuing the chance of a lifetime. Having no money, no recognized brand and no real plan is the least of their worries as they pursue their small business dreams full speed ahead. Insane or ingenious? We'll let you decide!

This project originally started as a hobby in the Winter of 2007. But the work ethic, enthusiasm and commitment by the young people involved in the project over just 3 short months amazed and overwhelmed Shonika so much that she gave up all her clients except one (very small client that was still in contract) to give her plenty of time to focus on helping them market, brand and grow their respective businesses. Her youth entrepreneurs also believe that she has this 'magical gift' to provide teen business coaching for other youth and teen entrepreneurs worldwide....we'll see ;-)
