Asus' Eee Keyboard: The Tiny Media PC You've Been Waiting For?

One oddity that popped up at CES last week was the Asus Eee Keyboard--it's basically an entire functioning PC with a 5-inch touchscreen display crammed into not much more space than a conventional dumb QWERTY unit.

Asus Cranks Out More Laptops, Some Scented

They may not be Eee PCs, but rest assured, Asus [TPE:2357] has once again created a good product with an incredibly stupid ancillary trait. This time it's not the name, but the... smell. Yes, the F6 line of laptops, which is new this week, will sport 13.3-inch screens, Core 2 Duo chips, ATI Mobility Radeon graphics with 256MB of VRAM, a TV tuner with remote control, up to 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive, as well as [deep breath] five different colors and fragrances.

Asus Intros Two Powerful Gaming Notebooks

Taipei-based Asus [TPE: 2357] is expanding its consumer electronics line so quickly that it almost doesn't do justice to the impressiveness of each device's individual specs. Case in point: two large-screen portables they were quietly demonstrating at Computex, both of which look like a gamer's dream come true. Those two machines are the 15.6-inch G50V and 17-inch G71V, and while they took a back seat to Asus's Eee subnotebooks amongst all the hubbub, they're packing serious power.

Asus Exhibits Yet Another Eee Product: LCD TV

The "Eee" moniker was never a great one, but now Asus [TPE: 2357] seems to be applying it beyond its logical limits with something new they quietly brought to Computex 2008: a widescreen LCD television. Sure enough, Engadget China has the pics to prove it. No word yet on the exact size, but it looks to be at least 32 inches. It was exhibited playing a Blu-Ray movie off of a PS3, but other than that, little is known about its functionality or its price point.

If there were an award for most fecund tech company, Asus [TPE: 2357] would be the shoe-in; not only have they been cranking out new iterations of their uber-successful Eee PC laptop and thinking up new gaming devices, but they're now releasing a sharp-looking wood-trimmed laptop -- the "Eee Box," a barebones, low-cost desktop PC in a slim form factor.
