Does your incentive system work?

Are you the victim of "decisional set-up"?

In a recent Harvard Executive course I took, our decision making class instructor said - "it's not the information you HAVE that clouds your decision making, it's the information you DO NOT have".

What a brilliant way to summarize the problems that many organizations face when making decisions. By this, I don't just mean that they lack the data to support their decision making, I mean, they often forget to ask for the data they don't have.

'Unfortunately, the regulatory regime that failed so terribly leading up to the financial crisis is precisely the regulatory regime we have today,' Treasury Secretary Geithner declared. 'We need comprehensive financial reform.'

Can MySpace Re-Invent Itself?

While MySpace’s rival, Facebook, consistently breaks monthly traffic records, the teen social network is on a steady decline. That is not to say MySpace does’t have a sizable audience. The teen social network has an estimated monthly traffic of 54.3 million, according to Quantcast.com. But 54.3 million is a steep 35% drop from their peak at 83 million in June 2007. So how can the faltering social network recover to 2007 numbers?

Company Overview

Microsoft Office 2010 Moves to the Cloud

When Canadian company i4i sued Microsoft this past August, watchdogs in the software community predicted that the move would encourage Microsoft to bring up their plans for a move to cloud computing much earlier than planned – and it looks like they were right. In addition to the announcements of a new and improved version of Internet Explorer and a major update of the Silverlight runtime platform at this week’s Microsoft at the Professional Developer’s Conference, the software giant also released the cloud-based Microsoft Office 2010 in beta version.

First, look around at your existing containers. Do you have neglected
containers with old, scraggly plants that are anemic and barely alive?
It might be time to pull them out and start fresh. It's a good idea to
empty out the old soil, too. Wash the container and start with a high
Have you Been Affected by the Holiday Effect?

Have you ever heard of the Holiday Effect in hiring? Perhaps you’ve
heard that companies usually don’t hire during the holidays, from
Thanksgiving until after the New Year.

So what does this mean for a candidate?
