Intel and Nokia have just announced a strategic partnership to tie up the two companies' technology so that they can tackle the problem of next-generation mobile computers. It's a plan that makes perfect sense in a world where we're all used to iPhones and netbooks.

New York wants to reinvent its taxis. The metropolis just put out an all-points-bulletin to tech companies, and the general public, seeking new gizmos and innovations that would improve the cab riding experience.
Dell Leaks Notebook Product Roadmap

The Boy Genius Report has received a copy of Dell's [NASDAQ: DELL] product roadmap for its portable computers, and while there aren't any huge surprises, there are some note-worthy inclusions. A salient one is a new model Dell is calling the Latitude XT2 tablet, which is a successor to the company's existing XT tablet line. While it's clear from the leaked documents that Dell doesn't have the XT2's specifications fully vetted, the new notebook will sport a 12.1-inch WXGA display and Intel Montevina (aka Centrino 2) chip architecture.

OQO Model 02: The Biggest Little Computer Around

There are plenty of ultra-mobile computers on the market, and most of them are beleaguered little gizmos: half the size of a laptop, but also half the speed, half the storage, half a keyboard, and in short, half-assed. In that light, it's nice to spend some time with a little machine that is full of real PC capability -- even if it comes at full PC price.
