American Consumers Now Seem to Prefer Cars Over Trucks

The past couple of years have changed the American Automotive Industry indefinitely. In the past Americans loved to drive big luxurious trucks and SUV vehicle. However the driving habits of the American consumer has now been swayed because of spiking gas prices, reducing the carbon footprint on the environment, and the recent economy has put a damper on larger vehicle buying which are normally more expensive than smaller vehicles.

GM Sells Hummer to Chinese

GM's Hummer division, once the conspicuous symbol of American over-consumption, was sold to the Chinese today, reports the AP. The sale price was not disclosed, but the rumor mill puts the figure at $150 million. That's a lot less than the $500 million valuation GM gave during its bankruptcy proceedings this past summer.
