Gimmick or Genius?

In the gaming world, the only thing better than beating the game is beating others in said game. The feeling of omnipotent pwnage received from being the last man or woman standing after a frantic deathmatch keeps many players online looking for bigger and better competition. Most gamers simply play for bragging rights but Bringit.com wants players to put their money where their controllers are – literally.

Google Invades Gaming; Outer Space

Adding to its already-formidable AdSense product-line this week, Google [GOOG] announced AdSense for online Flash games. Comscore says that up to 25% of Web surfers worldwide play these games, so Google might be tapping a sizable market: 200 million computer-users.

AdSense’s new gaming platform will allow game-writers to incorporate text, image or video advertisements within their games, likely with a similar content-related algorithm that drives regular text-based AdSense to make sure you’re getting relevant ads.

The reproduction of sound and
picture has evolved over many decades and has resulted in the present state of
the market. The display portion of the video has progressed into a high
definition version. The sound is stagnated by the lack of revolution or
evolution in the loudspeaker industry.

Asus Intros Two Powerful Gaming Notebooks

Taipei-based Asus [TPE: 2357] is expanding its consumer electronics line so quickly that it almost doesn't do justice to the impressiveness of each device's individual specs. Case in point: two large-screen portables they were quietly demonstrating at Computex, both of which look like a gamer's dream come true. Those two machines are the 15.6-inch G50V and 17-inch G71V, and while they took a back seat to Asus's Eee subnotebooks amongst all the hubbub, they're packing serious power.

HP's "Blackbird" Gaming Computer Goes Retail

While HP's [NYSE: HPQ] Blackbird 002 gaming PC isn't exactly new, its availability has been pretty limited until now. HP has just announced the Blackbird 002 will be available in an "exclusive configuration" at NewEgg.com and Amazon, as well as in select Best Buy, Circuit City, J&R and Micro Center stores. This will be the first time the machine will be for sale in in the big box retail stores, and for the occasion, HP has upgraded the guts (and the retail price) of the Blackbird 002 to suit the occasion.

Nokia's N96 Smartphone Available July 31st

While most smartphone enthusiasts would agree that Nokia's [NYSE: NOK] N95 is already a few steps ahead of the competition, the N96 will blow them away – for good reasons and bad. The N96 was originally announced at Mobile Congress 2008, but more details have since come forth. The good: the N96 will have 16GB of solid-state storage inside, as well as a 2.8-inch screen, DVB TV tuner, a viewing kickstand, and a special browsing user interface for navigating your video library. The back of the device also has a specially-designed grippy texture, and gaming-specific backlit buttons.
