Religion and Social Responsibility, Moishe Alexander

In Egypt last week President Barack Obama gave a speech titled "A new beginning." I think that is an unfortunate title for what some consider to be an important speech. Can you imagine a speech entitled "An old beginning." The commentaries that came before and after the speech were diverse.

A cross section of Americans thought Obama was going way beyond the call of duty by offering apologies for every security-motivated decision his country had made in the past; others saw it as a new gesture that will cast America in a favorable light in the eyes of the world.

Successful Business Intelligence: Moishe Alexander

Successful Business Intelligence: Secrets to Making BI a Killer App by Cindy Howson.

I really liked this book. First of all there is no question that Cindy Howson is a considered writer and extremely knowlegeable on the subject of business intelligence. She has the voice of experience and her bio attests to this. Not only does she know what she is talking about but she has also contributed in no small measure to the field of BI. She is also, fortunately for us, a natural teacher. She could probably teach on any subject.

Corporate Social Responsibility: Doing the Most Good for Your Company and Your Cause

Earlier this spring I read this 2004 book by Philip Kotler. Philip Kotler is one of the world's leading voices on business and marketing. I found this book useful although I must say that it seemed like corporate social responsibility 1.0 because of its emphasis on how charity is basically good public relations. The emphasis is on showing business execs how to choose social causes, design charity initiatives, gain employee support, and evaluate their efforts.

The Impact of Game Shows

Greetings Everyone!

It’s been a busy summer for GSA, with over a dozen shows in July and
August. Somewhere in the middle we had a trip to England…searching for
the right investor to help launch Game Show Britain. In this post, I
wanted to talk about the Impact of Game Shows at an event. There are
many types of events where a game show can help create the necessary
WOW to energize and motivate your audience.

Corporate Social Networking: What Is Role Of HR & Learning?

It’s no surprise that corporations have a love/hate relationship with the use of social media inside the company. As Business Week reminds us in recent article, there is reason for the tension inside companies on how they should handle usage of social media.

iPhone Beats Kindle?

Last week I presented some interesting new findings on the Kindle’s expanding market,
and asked you all to weigh in on whether you thought it would continue
to expand into the corporate training market. The preliminary
consensus, at least, appears to be “no”.

By all accounts, mobile learning, termed “m-learning”, is on fire as a
new method of accessing learning.

I see three trends fueling this new interest in m-learning:
