"Mobile." If there's a single buzzword that's caught fire right now, "mobile" is napalm hot. Mobile apps, mobile ads, mobile devices, mobile Internet . . . it seems that the future of just about everything involves packing it to go. For those who feel like the mobile madness is moving too fast, it's time to fall in line.
Work/Life: I'll Never Find Another You...BlackBerry-Wise

As I head out to NBTA (i.e., the 2009 National Business Travel Association International Convention & Exposition) in San Diego...

... I have to admit I can't make it to California without my BlackBerry.

I'm embarrassed to confess to it, but number me among the countless CrackBerry addicts dotting the landscape of business travel.

One Mobile Phone for Each Wife

The best part of a global show like Mobile World Congress is that you get tuned in to how the rest of the world lives. When it comes to mobile phones, most Americans expect to carry one phone and sometimes will carry a Blackberry for e-mail and regular handset for phone calls. After watching one person after another pulling out a never ending variety of handsets over the course of the day, I started polling people as to how many handsets they were carrying.

Security in an Age of Openness

The recent debut of T-Mobile’s G1, the Android smart phone, is both a blessing and a curse. Why? Because Android is arguably the most open mobile Operating System yet. Created by a partnership of Google, the Open Handset Alliance, and T-Mobile, Android hopes to grab coveted market share from RIM (Blackberry) and Apple (iPhone) by opting not to put regulations on third-party application development.

Intel Atom: Intel Makes Its Smallest Chip Ever

Designing a microprocessor like the Atom, Intel's smallest chip ever, is like planning a city so tiny it could fit into a single bacteria. First, architects map out which routes go where so that millions of switches -- the transistors -- can direct traffic in the form of ones and zeroes that shoot from transmitters to transreceivers across silicon expressways (called "buses").
