Weather extremes and other disasters have become a part of our “new normal.” When remote work or flexible hours are part of an organization’s disaster response plan, employees can stay connected to work and businesses can continue to operate at some level of capacity.
The question is no longer "What is telework and flexible hours?" The focus must now shift to "How do we use work flexibility strategically and deliberately to achieve our unique business and personal goals?"
Just as a butcher creates a turducken by wrapping chicken inside duck, inside turkey, organizations must link policy, process and strategy if they want to make flexibility real. Does your organization have all three layers of a flex strategy "turducken?" If not, what's missing?
