Bio

I am a 42yr old British guy based on Brazil. My background is in marketing (stragey & brand building). I ran a boutique agency in London before moving to Brazil in 2004. Now I would descibe myself as a social entrepreneur. I am building ethical brands designed to make a positive impact on the world in one way or another.

Artists Against Corruption is a multi-arts project that will raise awareness of the fact that "corruption is the greatest obstacle to reducing poverty" (World Bank). At the same time it will act as a was of collectively marketing artists of many types. Through music, literature, photograhy, dance, art and design etc awareness of the consequences of corruption in relation to poverty will raised, and tollerance will be reduced. A website will be available soon. In the meantime you can contact me for more information - paul@artistsagainstcorruption.org

Miniature Earth is a project that highlights poverty, development issues and inequality by making sense of meaningless statistics. In doing so it focuses attention on the issues in the hope of bringing about positive changes. The project began in 2001 with a Youtube video which, in its various different versions, has been seen over 3 million times. I recently became involved in the project to transform it into a social enterprise. See www.miniture-earth.com for more details or email me paul@pbarnett.co.uk

BR-JAZZ is a project that will collectively promote Brazilian Jazz to the world. In doing so it will give new and emerging artists the opportunity to gain exposure, and give the word the opportunity to learn and appreciate more dimensions of Brazil´s rich culture, beyond the usual clichés.
