Bio and Interests: gwen boyles

My profession as a Project Manager has opened many doors from IT, Healthcare to Corporate training and working with People at-risk.   The part I enjoy the most is training and helping people help themselves through the use of horses.  That is the horse is the guide or catalyst that allows the handler or trainee to understand themselves.  The ability of the horse to mirror it's environment is the perfect reflection of seeing what and who we really are.  Confused yet?  Don't be, the horse can't be fooled.  The see us as we are at that moment.  Bad Day?  Don't even try to make light of it.  They see through the fake smile and the fact that you are trying to mask your real self, makes them very uneasy.  You can't be trusted today.  It's something your co-workers always felt or perhaps you know with one of your co-workers is having a bad day, but just couldn't understand why you were affected.  The horse will explain it to you very quickly.  This un-canny ability is perfect for learning leadership, management principals and dealing with those hidden disabilities the human carries - depression, anger, fear, eating problems and many other mental disorders.  This growing field is part of the Equine Assisted/Facilitated Psychotherapy and Learning.

My other interests follow the traditional lines of communicaton, risk management, team building and sports psychology.
