Bio and Interests: Allen Puy

Allen is a member of the Business Development staff within the IS&GS organization. He’s working with the BD team across Lockheed Martin to drive process enhancements and effective enterprise application strategies. He leverages technologies and disciplines such as CRM, SOA, webenabled applications, REST, social networking, Lean Thinking, Six Sigma, and broader business analysis approaches.

Allen is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University (1986) with a B.S. in Computer Science and minor in Mathematics. Following graduation, he began his career at General Electric Aerospace in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania as a programmer working with knowledge-based expert systems supporting intelligence analysis. As the organization became Management & Data Systems (M&DS) over the next several years, Allen took on several positions of increasing leadership in research and development, systems definition, proposal development, and subcontract management. In 1994, he became the Manager of Graphical User Interface (GUI) Engineering for programs throughout Valley Forge. He was a key leader for the implementation of the first-ever Lockheed Martin technical symposium, Solutioneering '96. In 1996, he became Manager of Information Systems Engineering, providing functional management and technical leadership to projects in Valley Forge. He was appointed Web Program Manager in January 2001, overseeing a variety of web implementation efforts throughout the M&DS organization across multiple locations and coordinating the governance, strategy, and tactics for the web efforts. Allen joined the Business Development organization of the IS&GS organization in February, 2004.

He’s also acted as Lockheed Martin’s liaison to the Pennsylvania State University College of Information Sciences and Technology since its launch in September 1999 and is involved in all manner of relationship management efforts for Lockheed Martin at the University. Allen is involved in music and drama activities in Community Theater and at his church. He and his wife and daughter reside in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he's lived for more than thirty years.

As primary Worship Leader, he sings and speaks and prays and reads scripture and generally helps to thread the key messages of our "contemporary" worship services at Hopewell UMC in Downingtown, PA. He has have a great passion for worship and for leading individuals into worshipful experiences--be they in the Sunday morning corporate worship time or in mission work for the world or in service to the body of the Church itself. He also directs The Passion Play at the church, an outreach ministry that's been offered since 1963, with performances each June.

He's participated in community theater productions since junior high school and continues to be involved in various ways with theaters in my area. He enjoys acting, set design and construction, and technical design and direction. The range of shows he's worked on over the last several decades ranges from drama to comedy to musicals from old to new.
