Hospitals are complicated spaces that must be navigated by people of all different ages, abilities, and backgrounds. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation tapped students to create symbols that would help explain new health care services ranging from nutrition counseling to MRI-PET scans. Fifteen symbols from the University of Cincinnati's School of Design were chosen to be refined by icon design expert Mies Hora and integrated into the existing system.
