Andrew Gibbs is the founder of The Dieline, the web's best package-design blog, and he's been trawling for cool packaging designs for years. Now, he's gathered his favorite designs into book, Box Bottle Bag. Gibbs offered Fast Company a peek inside, and selected for us nine of his favorite designs.
A liquor bottle by London based Stranger & Stranger. Note how the dimple in the bottle of the bottle has been shaped like a juicer--a clever allusion to oranges, the main flavor ingredient.
A yogurt package by Dow Design, a New Zealand firm, which transforms the tops into one big, branded image.
British studio ilovedust produced this package for an English cider company based in the coastal town of Dorset. Locally, cider connotes beach-side barbecues, hence the maritime imagery.
An in-house design from Jonathan Crisp, a line of chips.
Craig Skinner's packaging for a small confectionery in Texas.
A design by recent Fashion Institute of Technology grad Diana Luistro.
Designed by powerhouse packaging-design firm Turner Duckworth.
Joel Templin and Katie Jain run the San Francisco-based firm Hatch. Naturally, when they founded their own wine label, JAQK, they designed the package.
Another design by Turner Duckworth, for absinthe brand Le Tourment Vert ("The Green Curse"). The sticker on the bottle is a clever solution to absinthe regulations that vary by country, and require specialized labeling.
