Soraya Darabi

Cofounder, Zady.com

At the tender age of 23, Soraya Darabi--then manager of digital partnerships and social-media marketing for The New York Times--played travel guide to Gray Lady as it learned to navigate the foreign landscapes of Facebook and Twitter. An alumnus of Drop.io (acquired by Facebook) and Foodspotting (acquired by Open Table), in August 2013, Darabi and fellow co-founder Maxine Bédat launched Zady, an omni-channel fashion brand for men and women that positions itself as an "anecdote to fast fashion" by focusing on quality, design and product origins.

We're living in a world right now where the 26-year-old founder of a PHP platform [Facebook] has more power than the president of the U.S. in terms of his reach on a day-to-day basis. I'm not sure social media has been overestimated yet.
