The rebranding and revitalization of Univision as the "Hispanic heartbeat of America" is largely the work of two women: Univision's executive vice president of corporate marketing Ruth Gaviria, and Linda Ong, president at Brooklyn-based branding firm TruthCo. Gaviria took the lead in redefining the brand's various networks to more directly serve second- and third- generation Hispanics, which included the introduction of English-language content, the launch of the Uforia digital music brand, and the rebranding of telenovela and sports-focused TeleFutura as UniMÌÎÌ_s, with more strategic programming.
