David Rockwell is the founder and President of Rockwell Group, an award-winning, cross-disciplinary architecture and design practice based in New York City with satellite offices in Madrid and Shanghai. Twice named as one of Fast Company’s most innovative design practices, the firm crafts a unique narrative for each project through the intersection of theater and architecture. Projects include the TED theater (Vancouver, BC); W Hotels (New York, Paris, Singapore, and Vieques); Nobu restaurants and hotels worldwide; NeueHouse (New York and Los Angeles); Elinor Bunin-Munroe Film Center at Lincoln Center; Imagination Playground; set design for the 2009 and 2010 annual Academy Awards; JetBlue’s T5 terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport; exhibition design for the Center for Civil and Human Rights (Atlanta); Culture Shed at New York’s Hudson Yards in collaboration with Diller Scofidio + Renfro; and set design for "You Can’t Take It With You," "Kinky Boots," and "Hairspray."
