Adam Fleischman worked in the wine business as the founder of Culver City restaurants BottleRock and Vinoteque before revolutionizing the burger industry by launching Umami Burger in 2009. Adam developed the Umami Burger concept, which is dedicated to his fascination with umami, a Japanese word describing the pleasant and savory taste imparted by glutamate, a type of amino acid, and ribonucleotides that occur naturally in foods. As founder and chairman of the board of Umami Restaurant Group, Fleischman plans to share his love for burgers, pizza, and “fine-dining fast food” concepts, and expand his burgeoning savory empire all over the United States and internationally.
