Bio and Interests: Scott Winkler

By Scott Winkler

After earning my BS from Taylor University [1] in Marketing/Information Systems I began working in the digital media space at Starcom IP, a division of Starcom Worldwide [2], where I spent the better part of 3 years developing the digital strategy for Kellogg's cereal brands.  Responsibilities included developing digital strategy and buying for brands such as Special K, Smart Start, All Brand, Frosted Mini-Wheats, Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Rice Krispies, and Apple Jacks.

After leaving Starcom IP I took on a newly created role at a start-up digital creative agency, Pixel [3], where I was charged with helping to develop it's Digital Strategy practice for clients such as Allstate, PetSmart, Sara Lee, and ESPN.

I'm now taking on my third role within the digital media/advertising space, this time on the publisher side as Sr. Account Executive with USAToday.com. In addition to my day-to-day sales role I'm also a member of Gannett's 'futures' practice where we generate, develop, and evaluate new business ideas that will perpetuate Gannett's leadership position in the media world.

My interests include new media, technology, human behavior, music, and college football (read: Ohio State football).
