New, fuel-efficient products and quality on par with the
best in the industry helped Ford increase retail market share in April – the
sixth time in the last seven months that Ford’s share of the retail market was
higher than a year ago. The news comes on the heels of the Preston Autoplex in
Maryland announcing that increases in Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury sales would
cause the dealership to issue help wanted ads to hire more sales
professionals. 

The enlightening news is seen as a sign of things to come in
the future, with Ford car sales setting records for April. Recent independent
studies rate Fusion and the Mercury Milan – the most fuel-efficient mid-size
sedans in America – as having the best predicted reliability among all mid-size
sedans.

“Our wide selection of affordable and fuel-efficient cars
across Ford, Lincoln and Mercury gives us a competitive advantage in the
Delaware-Maryland auto market,” said David Wilson Jr., Preston Autoplex Vice
President. “We are very encouraged by the consumer response to the new
technology set forth by all brands.”

The Ford
Fusion
, Mercury Milan, Lincoln MKZ and hybrid versions exceeded Ford’s
sales expectations, suggesting that consumers are viewing these brands and
products as being an outstanding value.

Wilson says Ford hybrid models are becoming increasingly
popular and are a leading force behind sales at their Maryland dealership. All
Ford hybrid models are the most fuel-efficient vehicles in their class, and the
Ford Escape and Ford Fusion recently were named to Kelley Blue Books list of
Top 10 Green Cars.

(part of the Autoplex) is currently offering all Delaware and Maryland
shoppers the Ford Advantage Plan.  The plan
offers payment protection up to 12 months for up to $700 per month on any new

Ford Transit Connect Coming to MD Car Dealership Serving Maryland and Delaware

Preston Ford in Maryland will be among the first commercial dealerships to receive the all new Transit Connect by Ford Motor Company. Preston Ford’s commercial truck division located in Hurlock,
Maryland has scheduled the arrival of the all new Ford Transit Connect.  The Transit Connect is Ford Motor Company’s all new, European inspired,
small commercial van that will appeal to small business owners and fulfill the
need for a fuel efficient work vehicle. 

The all new Transit Connect is said to have a maximum
storage capacity of 143 cubic feet while sustaining great fuel economy, 19 mpg
in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. 
The small commercial van will be fully customizable with different aftermarket
storage systems available from commercial brand names such as Sortimo and
Adrian Steel. 

Measuring in at 15 feet long the Transit has a turning
radius of just 39 feet curb to curb and standing at 6’8” the small commercial
van is ideal for businesses that work in tight areas and need the
maneuverability that the Transit Connect offers.  The new barn-door hinges on the 50/50 split
rear doors of Ford’s new commercial vehicle make it easier for loading and
unloading cargo.

Unique to the Transit Connect, Ford Work Solutions apply new
technology to improve efficiency for small businesses that spend most of their
time on the road.  The new commercial van
offers the option of an in-dash Windows computer that provides hands free
telecommunication, Internet access and turn by turn navigation. 

Ford Work Solutions has also paired up with DeWALT to
provide technology that will keep track of tools stored in the vehicle.  Using Radio Frequency Identification users
can scan their van before leaving a job to insure that they have left no tool
behind.  This new feature may guarantee
the Maryland Ford dealer the anticipated response to the new commercial van.

Ford Motor Company has left no details out in the
development of the new Transit Connect. 
The small van will offer an advanced stability control system that re-measures
the rate of roll 100 times per second, insuring that the new commercial vehicle
is safe for all businesses.

Many are excited about the arrival of the Transit Connect
including Commercial Sales Manager, Jim Phelps, who stated, “We are very
excited for the arrival of the new commercial van and have already had many
inquiries about the Transit Connect.  We
have always satisfied our local business owners by providing them with the
latest models Ford has to offer at the lowest prices and we intend to keep that
up with the arrival of Ford’s Transit Connect.” 
Preston Ford plans on the Transit Connect to arrive at their dealership
at the end of June or in July and may even replace some of their own fleet
vehicles with the new commercial van.

It has been five years since the band has played together, and in July of 2009 they will be releasing their new album “Music for Cougars.”  The band is known for their wide variety of music style including; dancehall, disco, punk and pop which are all featured on their new album “Music For Cougars.”

Cash for Clunkers: New Car Incentive affects Miami Honda and GM Dealerships

Sneak Peek into the 2010 Honda Pilot in Miami


The Honda Pilot underwent a major update only last year, with the mid-size SUV receiving a complete redesign, new trim levels and a more efficient powertrain. This new redesign left Honda Pilot consumers with little to no complaints. The SUV proved to be durable and reliable while being stylish. The SUV performed surprisingly well in Miami becuase of it's performance. Not surprisingly, Honda has decided to leave the vehicle untouched for the 2010 model year, but that doesn’t mean there’s not a lot going for it.
Up against strong competitors like the Ford Edge, the popular Toyota Highlander, and the all-new Chevrolet Equinox, the 2010 Honda Pilot relies on its already strong reputation for efficiency, comfort, and quality, combining the appearance of a tough SUV with the practicality of a crossover.


Standard features across the line include a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine equipped with Honda’s cylinder shutdown technology and delivering a peak output of 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. This is matched to a five-speed automatic, with standard 2WD or optional 4WD modes available across the range. Emissions meet CARB's ULEV-2 rating, and the Pilot delivers fuel economy of 17/23/19 mpg (city/highway/combined) in 2WD guise, while the 4WD model slides in just below at 16/22/18 mpg. A 21-gallon fuel tank can comfortably provide a driving range of more than 400 miles on the highway.


The Pilot is once again available in four model choices (LX, EX, EX-L and Touring), each offered with standard air-conditioning, cruise control, seven-speaker CD stereo, and 17-inch wheels. Inside, the vehicle emphasizes an expansive feel with an efficient and modern design that supplies 152.7 cubic feet of passenger space within three rows of seats offering plenty of space for up to eight adults.
All models, starting with the base LX, are also equipped with a standard towing receiver and a maximum tow rating of 4,500 pounds on 4WD models and 3,500 pounds on 2WD models. Other features include a tailgate with a lift-up glass hatch that makes quick access to the back of the vehicle easier, as well as hill-start assist to keep your rear bumper off the hood of the car behind you in steep driving.
EX adds a tri-zone automatic climate control system with humidity control and air filtration, a power driver’s seat with ten-way power adjustment with lumbar support, six-disc in-dash CD changer, XM Satellite Radio, body colored side mirrors and door handles, and roof rails.


Opt for the Pilot EX-L and you also get leather trim, a four-way power adjustable front passenger seat, a moonroof, a rear view camera, and an optional 9-inch display screen and DVD entertainment system.
Topping out the range is the Touring model, which adds satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, a power tailgate and an optional rear-seat DVD entertainment system as well.


Aesthetically, the Pilot has always been a very boxy but mildly styled SUV—not a rugged, brutish brick like a Hummer, but more of a tall wagon. That car-like demeanor is what helped the first-generation Pilot break ground in the crossover SUV category back in 2002, and fortunately the latest model still has some of the visual appeal of a more rugged off-roader while holding on to its excellent ride quality and moderate size.
Prices rise slightly across the line for the 2010 Honda Pilot, now ranging from $27,895 for the 2WD Pilot LX to $38,645 for the 4WD Pilot Touring, excluding $710 destination.

First automaker to meet U.S. Clean Air Act without a catalytic converter - Civic CVCC (1974)
First vehicle to top U.S. EPA list of most fuel efficient cars - Civic (1977)

Honda History in America
American Honda was the first overseas subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., established eleven years after HMC's inception as a small motorcycle manufacturer in Japan. Honda entered the U.S. market in 1959 with the step-through Honda 50 motorcycle and helped spur the dramatic growth of the U.S. motorcycle market, as it became the best-selling brand in America.


The introduction of the fuel-efficient Civic in 1973 paved the way for Honda's entry into the U.S. auto industry. Based on its longstanding commitment to develop and build products close to the customer, Honda established research and development operations in America in 1975, and U.S. manufacturing in 1979, starting with production of motorcycles in Marysville, Ohio. Honda became the first Japanese automaker to build cars in America with the start of Accord production at the Marysville Auto Plant in November 1982. In May 2009, Honda reached the 15 million unit milestone in U.S. automobile production.
In 1986, the company expanded into the luxury automobile market with the creation of the Acura brand, the first luxury nameplate from a Japanese automaker. Acura earned a top rating in J.D. Power and Associates' Customer Satisfaction Index for four consecutive years (1986-1989).


In the 1990s, Honda introduced the U.S. automobile industry's first low-emissions vehicles, meeting challenging new emissions requirements in California while also enhancing fuel efficiency. In 1999, Honda introduced America's first mass production hybrid vehicle, the Insight, followed in 2002 by the Honda FCX, the first fuel cell vehicle certified by the U.S. government for daily use and the first to be placed in the hands of an individual consumer.


In 2008, the company began leasing its next-generation FCX Clarity fuel cell sedan, the industry's most advanced zero-emissions vehicle. In March 2009 Honda introduced the 2010 Honda Insight, America's most affordable hybrid, with plans to launch another all-new hybrid within the next several years based on the company's sporty CR-Z hybrid concept vehicle.
