Coca Cola's Drink 2 Wear apparel, made from a blend of recycled plastic bottles and cotton, was recently added to Wal-Mart stores across the nation. The men's and women's T-shirts feature messages intended to educate consumers about the value of recycling. Once collected from curbside drop-off locations, the post-consumer PET bottles are run through grinders that reduce them to flake form. These are then cleaned and sold to manufacturers who convert them to fiber, which is eventually transformed into yarn. Coca-Cola's rPET line also includes tote bags, messenger bags, caps, purses, and notebooks made from recycled plastic bottles.
