 <description>&lt;p&gt;How to retain younger workers?  Stop using &quot;downsizing&quot; and layoffs as the only answer to monetary woes.  Do you think that an employee should be loyal to a company when that company might not be loyal to them?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Once upon a time, when a corporation had to lay off employees, it was a mark of failure, of shame, an embarrassment that you weren&#039;t running a tight ship.  Nowadays, it&#039;s a quick and cheap way to meet the numbers for the quarter and up the stock price.  Does this give us younger workers confidence?  If you think so, you must have a Harvard MBA.&lt;/p&gt;
