 <description>&lt;p&gt;I would agree with Chris that there is a cathartic moment and a social act when people send these perhaps taboo &quot;messages in a bottle&quot; into cyberspace hoping to connect with like-minded others. I&#039;ve been doing research on this phenomenon at &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.digitalstoryquilt.com&quot;&gt;www.digitalstoryquilt.com&lt;/a&gt; and see that like carving one&#039;s name into a tree, people want to be seen and live on. One man shared several posts over several weeks after his cat died before Christmas. You could see him working through his grief using this anonymous medium.&lt;/p&gt;
