Fast Talk Response -

In addition to the financial and data security issues, could it be that some doctors are worried about the transfer of knowledge and patient visits to another medical provider?

Something akin to what number portability may have done to the telcos

All too often branding is considered to be the task of marketing with focus on ads, collateral etc. Making employees and customers believe that the brand is not just a simple ad but instead the brand reflects the essence of the culture and values of the organisation.

One can express this in forums internally and externally but actually implementing this has been found to be a challenge. Short term decisions, in adequate processes have tended to spoil the picture for both employees and customers.

You might also want to have a look at this link , that I came across

YouTube may have had a limited impact in the US region, but there are more regions in the world where it needs to be relevant to audiences.

It is premature to describe it as the "most valuable television station on the planet". Competition is rapidly increasing for YouTube and there is still quite a bit more that it needs to do.

A large number of regions still find it easier and cheaper to receive television than internet . Plus the issue of content quality, piracy and visually appeal also provide some hinderance to the most valuable station hypothesis.

"Change Everything" is too vast a way to describe it but yes some new services will start and it will modify some current ways of doing things. There will still be a very last majority of things that will be left untouched.

The purpose of most competitions is to get "the great idea". So the winner of the prize generally has a great idea .

How an organisation takes the idea and converts it into a winning solution is still something most have not worked out.

I read about an application called Blogit that allows a person to blog directly from Facebook to various blogs they may be writing about. Secondly, I noticed a plugin that posts an entry in the news feed of facebook when a blogger posts in their wordpress blog.

The distribution of information, content etc thus is changing. Infact , BBC Radio has a Facebook application that allows radio programming to be listened to , straight from the profile.

Increasing while the distribution options may increase, the credibility of news and information that one reads may become a bigger challenge.

Fast Talk Response -

Overall, more than the physical presence it is the intellectual and emphatic presence that a boss needs to demonstrate to the team.

Multiple time zones makes it physically difficult for the boss to be the first one in the office and the last to leave office.

Two things, come to mind :

1. It is not so much the physical presence that matters but the leadership. Too many time one hears "I don't care, you get it done". Well one must care to ensure that the team feels motivated and looked after.

A very nice post.

An example comes to mind, while developing the experience of a bike service centre , a checklist was sought to be designed for diagnosing the bike . The best service advisor could ask only about 15 percent or so questions in a role play situation. The same person when asked to list the questions in a checklist added more in much the same amount of time.

It turned out to be the best way to get over resistance in implementing a checklist. The downside was that it became monotonous and the rigour was lost at a later point in time. But it was addressed.
