Google helps us accomplish the 80/20 rule in ~0.17 seconds. It allows people to push their drive for knowledge on a whole new level. If I wanted information on lemurs, I'm not going to book a ticket and hotel and fly down to Madagascar.

Fast Talk Response -

"We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week." - Bob Slydell (Officespace)

this is very similar to the ad approach done by pandora.com. In my opinion, pandora does a much better job since they still give their content a bit more, if not the same priority as the ad. Also, the ads are usually designed into the site, which makes it a bit more digestible.

The fact that 50% of the site above the 1024x768 fold (include the address bar, which brings the browser window height to about 620px) is made up of advertisements, I would say so. Anyways, on to bigger and better things like Batman on July 18th.

Fast Talk Response -

i think the people that are still stuck in the "i need gas" mentality need to save their gas money and visit other countries besides the states. It seems like everyone else has and have already been awakened by high gas prices. find alternatives that are better than what you are doin now... even if it comes down to carpooling (gasp).

@Rachel, I agree with you that there needs to be an alternative, but I guarantee you that probably more than half the people across this country don't really need SUVs. People driving by themselves with maybe a few bags of groceries in the trunk do not require an SUV. IMO, we, as Americans have to learn how to not overindulge. In other news... a car that gets 230MPG > http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/tech/2008/06/05/washburn.230.mpg.car.kf...

Finally! It's about time that we get these things off the road. Now, we have to play catchup with foreign competitors in producing small, fuel-efficient vehicles.
