Made to Stick: The Gripping Statistic

Imagine that the federal government announces a second-stage bailout in the amount of 703,000 hectoshekels. (We've gone metric!) You're probably not sure how to feel about this. (Though if you're already incensed, you should probably cut down on the Fox News.)

To assess the bailout, you'd ask: How much money is that, exactly? Is it too much or not enough? (Also, in this crazy metric world, how many centiliters do I weigh? And do I look skinnier?)

Do Something: Jurassic Park Syndrome

In Jurassic Park, the dinosaurs roam the island terrorizing the humans, who seek refuge in the main building -- a sanctuary with security that beasts surely aren't smart enough to breach, right? Wrong! The big moment of terror is when those dumb animals learn to turn the doorknobs. Uh-oh. Now the humans hiding in the kitchen are really screwed.

"Hell yeah! Absolutely. I couldn't do what I'm doing if I lived in any
other city. We're more out to make work together as opposed to leave
one another in our dust." -- Megan Stielstra, 2nd Story director of story development
