I wonder if it would be more effective to take the $34 billion and invest in green technology and infrastructure and retrain the autoworkers and the more than 2.5 million other people who lost substantial jobs. How much would it cost to eliminate the need to drive cars?

There's a lot of blame to go around. Think ecosystem... and the consumers trashed the park.

Given the competition, Macs are the most innovative laptops on the market; and they have an operating system that actually works and a good selection of application software. The workability justified the additional expense, i.e., $200 more than a Dell, for me. What I have noticed is that Apple appears to more mainstream; I see a large number of college students and small business persons sporting the laptops.

I am not inspired by John McCain or any other political leader (an oxymoron). "Spin doctors" is what comes to mind. The hope salvation will delivered by the government is little more than a pipe dream. We need to take responsibility for our greed and complacency. We need to regenerate our economic engines within the our local communities. We need to communicate and not dominate the conversation. We need to ensure that everyone participates... this happens at a grassroot level... not in the money centers and Washington.
