I like your point about if you don't have a brand then your consumers will make one for you. Therefore, to be more controlled over your business- create a brand for yourself! In times like today people need a look that they can recognize, and branding greatly helps with this.

These days nothing is private online. If an employer really wants to see your Facebook page- they can. It is that simple. It does not matter if you block them from seeing certain photos, if you deleted those photos, etc. The best way to keep your profile under control is to never let it get out of control. Always monitor what is going on with your profile. Let friends know you don't want inappropriate pictures up and write things you wouldn't mind your boss reading. It may sound like a pain in the butt to monitor you Facebook and Twitter- it's your personal life after all right?

Twitter has been coming up with great apps and ideas that have never been done by other networking sites. This is just another example. Although this one might have some potential dangers it can also be used as a business tool. Seeing where your followers are can change how you market to them!

I think the Re-Tweet function was bound to happen and sounds like a great idea. I wonder if this will bother people who only partially Re-Tweet though. Also, like this blog mentions, what will come next? After this it wont be hard to imagine a #followfriday button.

I am a Facebook and Twitter user. I also just turned 20 recently. Personally, I do not mind that there are adults and older users on either site. In fact, looking ahead it is helpful for me to connect to them and start networking for business and the future. All of my friends still use Facebook daily, whereas Twitter seems to disinterest them. As for parents friend requesting my friends and I, some mind and some do not. Facebook's privacy controls really come in handy though- people can limit what specific other individuals can see.

Conversation is key to a business, big or small. That is what makes online social media so useful; it is a convenient way to communicate to people and possible future consumers. Conversation is something that should not be overlooked.

More and more people have a presence online and therefore more virtual sales are being made. If people are purchasing virtual dog food for their virtual pets online, what will come next?

I liked the comparison of the LA highway to advertisements today- the cars/advertisements are everywhere, yet hardly remembered. Good advice on how to treat customers in this “age of the stream”.
