Local LA water? You mean imported from Oregon? If there's any place in the world where the carbon footprint of Fiji water is lighter than the water footprint of "local" water, I'd say it's California. Until we stop wasting water on cattle and other irresponsible water-wasting farm products, Southern Californians might just be better of sticking with Evian.

The advertising part is what could make this sustainable at low prices. BiCiNg, Barcelona's bike sharing program, is heavily subsidized (like practically everything here) but it's dirt cheap to use, so it seems the vast majority of cyclists are on Bicing bikes. There are enough racks around town to make it more convenient and ubiquitous than Paris' bike sharing program.

The Paris bikes are more subtle (and of course better looking) so I didn't notice them everywhere the way ones sees people on Bicing bikes. Which brings up another key point- peer influence.

iPhone 3.0 has a fab copy-paste function that lets you copy text almost from anywhere to anywhere, and comes with a neat "shake to undo" trick. Apple's been holding off on this basic option until it's absolutely nailed it.

aaaaaarrrrghhhhhh!!! If they don't release this function ASAP, I'm buying a Pre. What is there to nail??? Copy/paste worked FINE on every Palm device I ever owned.

yaaay! I'm in the top 10. I was getting really nervous on the first page. I didn't just spend $80,000 on tuition to become a farmer....
