I don't see why the new Nano is so remarkable. iPhone is remarkable. New Nano = return to shape of the 1st gen Nano, which is a good move, with an added accelerometer (that the iphone has). Genius will be pervasive across all apple devices. And it comes in lots of colors, like the ipod mini (remember that?)

I doubt that General Patten employed this leadership technique.

The ability to manipulate people into agreeing with you is a trait shared by many sociopaths.

I'm sure Charles Manson was very good at "naturally firing up the social neurons" in his followers. Not sure I would argue that he had a better brain than your average non-psycho.

I think a cap and trade policy sounds better than a carbon tax.

Better to set a definite cap - a tax is just a tacked on cost to polluting, an attempt to take into count the externality of polluting into the pricing of energy and goods - this has a benefit - it attempts to set the price at the correct level where other cleaner energies can compete. Also a carbon tax would hypothetically effect every industry, not just the energy sector, where cap and trades are initially proposed.

with the exception of making your own music, music requires technology to be played back and enjoyed. A book is a form of information technology in of itself, a type most people don't have much issue with and actually enjoy.

Iron Man was always one of my favorite Marvel comics growing up... Still, it's hard to imagine Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark - I always imagined him more like a geeky Tom Selleck.

ING Direct is so clean and easy to use, I think many people stick to using them even though they no longer offer the most competitive interest rates. Banks with clunky web sites and confusing interfaces make something already stressful, namely money, that much worse to manage. People will select a bank for the "emotional security" a well-designed financial service experience can afford.
