 <description>&lt;p&gt;Karen, Your comments about &quot;no fool-proof method for testing names&quot; is right on. Yahoo!, Monster or Google would never have passed a focus group. So much of it depends on what the business owner(s) want from the name (i.e. a name that&#039;s conservative, or disruptive, or creative, or trademark-able, etc.) It also depends whether it&#039;s a small company, such as a consultancy, where the name can be explained in person. With bigger companies, the name really has to stand on its own, without someone to explain its Latin origins or that it&#039;s a nearby mountain peak.&lt;/p&gt;
