I think the issue of presence is very important. People often have a difficult time keeping up with what other people are working on. It is difficult enough in an office, but even more difficult with remote workers. Email is something that is like the wheel, it is pretty much perfect for what it does. Some of the other technology features are more like a mechanical pencil. Very useful, but not for everybody. Does it do that same basic thing as a regular pencil? Yes. Just make sure you don't look at the solution before you look at the problem.

Newspapers are going to have to find a way to reach an audience. Notice I didn't say large audience. Newspapers can't operate the way they used to, but I think they can find a way to stay in business. Are they going to have a strangle hold on information like they used to... no way.

I think enterprises could do a lot with web 2.0 tools, but they need to be smart about them. Services like Twitter have a ton of different uses, you just need to identify how it can help your business.

Looks great. I am excited for more smartphones to enter the market. With more and more people getting into the mobile web, we are going to see an explosion of social and business networking via phones. It is going to be very fun.

Very good interview. Building brand awareness in a web 2.0 world is not too difficult if you have a basic understanding of what you are trying to accomplish. Gary is right when he says to be honest. That goes hand in hand with authenticity. Web 2.0 is real and you need to be that also to be successful.

An excellent article. Social capital has some value for sure and needs to be looked at in terms of business. In the social space, it is called friendship... in the business world, it is social capital.

As described in the article, you need to know how to spend your social capital and how to save it.
