a very helpful picture of Mr. Kelly and how his public work and private life came together.

I found especially profound his the movement from his self-centered motivation for battling the cancer to his other-centered motivation re: his daughter.

the empathy of design thinking generates a lot of power.

keep creating...articles well worth the read,

Thomas, I especially liked this piece of advice: "wait a few seconds before speaking. Give a moment to the interviewee to see if they want to add anything else to what they just said. It may look like they finished their statement, but in fact, they often want to say more. They just need the space to say it."

Like the poet said, "pause, so that something important can catch up with you."

I think we don't "pause" enough.

Great series!

Keep creating...today's masterpiece,

As I was reading your post I kept thinking of Gandolf of the Toilken fame. Maybe instead of "story steward" you might refer to "story wizard"? Grin.

And, you are so right to keep the questions to yourself. The journey is no longer a journey if I know the questions. It's just another "business trip".

You lose the authentic discovery on the face of the hero when they know the questions ahead of time.

Great series Tom.

Keep creating...stories that stick,

Thomas, what a great set of insights into the "hero's journey" and how that plays out during an on camera interview.

Creating this kind of experience for the heros of any given organization or company has value that last long past the production and distribution of the video.

You've got my mind racing with this post. Looking forward to the next post in this series.

Keep creating...a journey worth taking,
Mike
