If you want to read about why the design may be bad, read the original piece that Fast Company links to in both the second line, and last line, attributions of this article. The meat and bones will be found in the original piece from which Fast Company picked up the story.

@Bruce Baker (and anyone): Maybe someday Fast Company will get around to fixing the bug that leads to frequent, multiple repeats of a single comment. I know I've written to them a couple of times, and I frequently see other users commenting similarly. In the meantime, one thing that's helpful to know is that when you submit a comment, and the page either freezes up, or cycles for several minutes, and eventually produces an error like this:

Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

Amazing. Although Google says that for now it will exclude faces, I hope that in coordination with the proper authorities, this technology will be used imminently to help stop the abuse of missing and exploited children, by helping to identify the thousands of nameless children's faces known to law enforcement from the files found on abusers' confiscated computers.

My aunt, who's in her seventies, is hosting our family gathering this Thanksgiving. She has told us that she wants to talk about conservation and eco-friendliness. She has gotten the 5 teenagers in the family to be on board, and they've prepared a presentation of some sort about their role in being good stewards. They're going to love this article!

I strongly disagree with your proposed "better security process":

"...giving current members a week to claim the admin spot, then shutting down the group if no one does."

Your Redskins design is awesome, and the buccaneers is alright, too. But what on earth did you do to my Pats?! Even if the Pats *were* to get a helmet "flag makeover," I'd much rather see a Colonial flag...but this is all wrong.

I admit, your remark about "a wind-swept John Kerry dressed up like a Minute Man" cracked me up. But in answer to your question, "why not really play the patriotic card and star and stripe the helmet?" I must say:

Ha! I don't think the far right will tolerate the moderate right appropriating the word "conservative."

Maybe what's more likely to happen is that the far right peels *itself* off from the Republican party, and goes with the "Conservative" moniker.

The graphic above shows Facebook use, for example, at 57% female. True, in numbers, that's "far more women" than men. But as a percentage, it's not really amazing, or anything. It would be interesting to see if the numbers hold steady at all hours of the day, 7-days a week, or for users under age-18.

It sounds like an interesting movie and I look forward to seeing it. Ondi Timoner's comment about Josh Harris being a cautionary tale to hug one's children more might seem overstated except that this *is* the same guy who last week on National Public Radio, describing how he wishes to be married, stated "I need $20 million before I can find a wife." So I'm curious to see if the film's insights are applicable to normal people, in addition to its subject.
