I think Media again crossed the line by abusing the technology. Inadvertently, but they still helped the terrorists by providing Live coverage – minute-to-minute details of the event.
In this particular event terrorists were technologically smart, they used Blackberry’s and GPS’s. By providing live broadcast of the commando operation media not just killed the element of surprise but endangered both the life of hostages and commandos.
It’s time media should start acting with some Social responsibility. News coverage is not just about providing breaking news and profit making.

If banning advertisements for cigarettes targeted at children helped decrease smoking, I bet limits on fast food advertising would make a positive effect. It will not remove obesity in children completely but certainly will make a bigger effect. Combination of this step with some responsibility from Parents will make an overall effect.
If Banning commercial of a legal business is difficult than government can counter this by promoting healthy products. Tax cut is one good option. Another option is by making equally good commercials of healthy food products.

This was an excellent move by Starbuck; it’s smart for business and it helps people have a tiny bit more incentive to get out and vote. Its good to see that corporation like Starbucks are putting community involvement ahead of money. Many citizens take freedom for granted, and it is sad how many of us don’t vote. Small motivational acts like this to promote good citizenship is a very socially responsible move by Starbucks! Way to go Starbucks!
