 <title>Should We Pick Our Customers? </title>

 <title>GE’s sustainability initiatives</title>

&lt;span&gt;Yesterday I attended an&lt;br /&gt;
outreach event, organized by &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.accountability21.net/&quot;&gt;AccountAbility&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
and GE, to bring together NGO stakeholders to provide input on GE&#039;s&lt;br /&gt;
continually developing sustainability initiatives.  I was one of a couple&lt;br /&gt;
of other corporate attendees invited to provide input.  I tried to do my&lt;br /&gt;
part, but I think that I also learned just as much on behalf of BT as my GE&lt;br /&gt;
colleagues no doubt learned for their company.  It was an excellent event&lt;br /&gt;
and something more companies should do. &lt;/span&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;I applaud this list.  Most of all because it doesn&#039;t focus on environment  as an isolated discipline. Rather the courses highlighted put environmental issues within the context of business, of tourism, of food, of clothing. As someone who has a job title that includes the letters CSR,  I am frequently asked by soon to graduate students how they can get into CSR or green jobs.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;This is a great list and an important one. But we should all also be aware that the environment is not going to be saved just by jobs that carry a green label any more than our economy depends only on people with &#039;finance&#039; in their job title.  It is going to be saved by all of us incorporating sustainability principles into our everyday jobs. Everyone has a green collar on their &#039;uniform&#039;.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Solar Installation - how long does it take?</title>

&lt;span&gt;I am often asked how long it took to build our solar installation in El Segundo&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;span&gt;The&lt;br /&gt;
installation has approaching 3000 modules, a combination of a raised&lt;br /&gt;
tracking system over the parking lot and fixed panels on the roof. It&lt;br /&gt;
will produce just short of a 1 M KW hours of clean electricity per year.&lt;/span&gt;
