Comment on Node ant

I recall a public forum debate that took place when Bill Clinton was challenging President Bush for the Presidency. It was at a University who's name escapes me.

At the time, there was a big movement to get the 'youth' more involved in voting.

One young lady stood up and said to President Bush "You aren't poor and your family has never been poor. How do you expect to help the poor people in America?" Her fellow students sitting around her nodded in approval of the question/accusation.

Fast Talk Response -

I could not agree with Brendan more. We are already sittign shoulder to shoulder, with 10 inches of space between us front to back. I have to listen to you give your colleague instructions on where to put the Gooba File? I have to listen to you ask your wife where she wants to meet for lunch? CAH MAHN!

If you make (or receive) a cell phone call in a quiet restraunt, a movie theater, the library or oN AN AIRPLANE then you are just a self-centered jerk. And before you ask - NO, we are NOT impressed with your or your phone call.

This 'Big Idea' is 'Bad' Idea.

If the CEO has gone missing for weeks and is, in reality, dying at home…then the shareholders have a right to know.

Unfortunately, the liberal media is always chasing down the next conspiracy. If the CEO announces that he had a non-cancerous growth removed from his body, the media will right away question publicly if the CEO has cancer. Then the stock price drops. Then the public questions the CEO’s ability to lead for 5 or 10 more years. Then the stock price drops again. And in the end, the stock and the shareholder get hurt.

Bad idea.

Disagree.
This morning, Ford announced that it lost BILLIONS of dollars, and as a result are trying to turn 3 SUV plants into plants that manufacture smaller cars.
I'm not veyr big into the 'Green' movement, but it's out there and people are taking action. They are also sick of paying over $4.00 a gallon for gas and many simply Won't.

Fast Talk Response -

Obviously Customer Service is king. I say that because if everyone is writing it here then obviously it's what they look for in the firms THEY do business with.

I'm of the same opinion. I'll go to Joe's Hardware before Home Depot ANY day. Why? Friendly, personal service. Short lines. I know where everything is. It's convenient to me geographically.

Differentiation is also key, as mentioned above. The Big Box stores pride themselves on carrying everything. Well, they can't carry EVERYTHING. What can you offer that they don't?

I'm hoping Twitter and Plurk go the same route as these 10 losers did. As long as we give Americans more ways to waste their time on line, this country will continue to get dumber and dumber...

I can't think of any reason in the world why I would care if John McCain uses e-mail or not.

The very crowd that bases their political opinions on how tech-savvy a candidate is is the same crowd who's only political knowledge coems from what their their favorite 'blogger' writes.

John McCain has beena leader in Washington DC for over 20 years. It's not because he's a bully, it's not because he has a famous last name or his Fatehr's money. It's because he's smart, articulate and passionate about serving his constituents and meeting their needs.
