I hate to go against everyone here but I say, cut China some slack. The country is just trying to put on a good face. This is their chance to make their country shine. My members agree with most of you, http://www.mymodernmet.com/forum/topic/show?id=2100445%3ATopic%3A19867, they don't agree with China switching out the cute girl for the one not so cute one. But you are talking about a country who really never had to deal with ideas like authenticity - an idea that America only got a hold of in the past decade or so.

I run a social network site about modern day experiences. I understand your frustration with NBC, I too read that NY Times article about the "game of digital whack-a-mole" but you're dealing with a traditional media company trying to appease their big budget advertisers who paid a pretty penny to get their commercials aired during prime time.

I totally agree with this Charlene on this - companies need to understand that a paradigm shift is happening and if they don't try to open themselves up to people they'll only come out looking worse.

I am an ambassador for OneWebDay.org and wrote a story about this - http://onewebday.org/stories/?p=7

I also have a public blog where I enjoy talking about these kinds of things (among other things): www.modernmet.com

I concur with the other two. Borders?!

I'm trying to approach, I've developed a social network site called My Modern Metropolis - a place to share modern day experiences. Like MySpace or Facebook but centered around sharing ideas or recommendations - art, hotels, restaurants, music...

Right now it's private at www.mymodernmet.com but my blog is public at www.modernmet.com
