Comment on Node ant

The Palm Pre appears to be a fine phone, but Palm is currently an also ran as Apple leading the Industry. Palm itself is likely to be competing against Nokia as they ramp up their S60 and Linux platforms and provide free development tools for their S60 java, flash, and Qt programming frameworks, and Google pushes their Android platform with equally free tools.

My only question to Palm is: "What the hell are you people thinking?." It's time to get your head out of your ass before you become the next technology road kill.

This is all very sad. What is even sadder is that CNN completely trashed it reputation as a news organization by hiring Glenn Beck. I don't think I will ever be able to read or see a CNN news story without questioning its validity. The only difference between CNN and Fox News is that people seem to trust Fox. Sad commentary on our society.

Interesting idea, but what about embedded web engines like webkit. Nokia appears to be adopting webkit big time through their acquisition of Trolltech. The same seems to be happening at Google as they work on their own webkit based browser.

I think innovation is a big factor in improving our economy, but so is reinvesting capital in our manufacturing and raw materials industries. China isn't getting rich producing ideas. It is banking on its production capabilities.

If public funding and privatization are the two extremes of the possible alternatives, then the answer must fall somewhere in between. The problems we face in Massachusetts are driven by the laws that govern authorities for funding projects. Tolls, and fees are not folded back into the infrastructure, but are funneled into a general pot that gets distributed to other programs.

Jim Rogers seems to be typical of American Financiers. Produce nothing, any suck the life out of anyone that can. His belief that Asia is up and coming because the people are driven and motivated contrasted against modern Americans and Europeans who have lost their edge is a prime example of his distorted thinking.

The only time I fly these days is when I am traveling for business. I am on the road 50% of my time. We have a policy in place to not book flights on United unless there is no other choice (business is business.) A few months ago, the stress of flying on United put me in the hospital for a night with severe chest pains. The least of United's worries should be removing food from flights. Their biggest worry should be the growing hatred that is building from business travelers. Once the economic good times return, our bad memories and anger towards this airline will not fade.
