@Mark You said a lot but you gave no solutions. At this point in the blog, solutions should be mandatory!

@Curtis & Marcos You guys are corny and apparently can't appreciate the fun in this. Plus it may actually cause Apple to follow suit. If they followed the rules or stick with what is clean, clear and elegant, there wouldn't be much to talk about and this article and the potential for the "people" to influence the "company" cease to exist. Screw the rules, use Ubuntu, Build-a-Mac and use any other option available. Keep in mind, Jobs and Gates didn't play by the rules!!!

Apparently most of the people writing here either already have a degree or pretty much still believe that the existing model works best, because I just keep hearing about the obstacles. This article is asking us to get out of the box and look at the standard educational model differently. There are flaws with current online course delivery but that is because they are trying to satisfy the old model. And because of that fact, internet courses tend to be exceptionally harder as it attempts to earn legitimacy through the abundance of content and requirements for each class.

First let me say that I have asked these same questions since I was in high school but never got any answers cause doing something other than what the status quo said was acceptable was not tolerated. So I slept through or skipped as many classes as possible and only did enough to pass. Mainly because I was bored. I took Eng 101 3 times because the first two teachers were pissed that I didn't do any classwork because I already knew how to write a great essay. So I passed the exit essay but failed the class.

One of the earliest jobs that I had was at my boarding high school. We made fluorescent light fixtures. You had a case, a guy who put on the upc stickers, the person who folded the transformer wire neatly so it fit the case, the guy who drilled the transformer into place, and me–the guy who put the cover of the case on, then the boxer of the case and finally the person who sealed and packed them onto a pallet. My crew was like a well oiled machine and we stayed in a "groove".

Having worked in many industries, retail, industrial assembly line, fast food, trucking, media, nursing, etc... I have to say that at the over all point has been to get through the day and get home to do what I want to do. And while I have had jobs that I love going to and working at, its hard to beat an assembly line for its "time passing" abilities. To be honest I didn't have a problem with the complete picture that was painted by the two stories. Even though I get paid more, I welcome boring monotonous days rather than the drama filled days that are rule in Nursing.

It is sad that your supposedly educated/integent readership completly misses the point made by this article. I believe that it is abundantly clear that the author sought to give businesses a proven strategy for winning in this new media world. Whether it was Obama or some other person is really not the issue. The method employed by his team are worthy of emulation if you want to reach the media savvy masses in this day and age.
