Instead of Business email being replaced, I see more like an integration of different technologies in order to keep email up-to-date. Mixing cool apps like IM, Twitter, Wikis, email, etc could help organizations managing email cluttering and optimization/effectiveness, increasing employee productivity.

OMG! I cannot believe we are discussing this idea here. It seems that airlines are making us a favor in providing air transportation services. Thank you USAir, thanks Jet Blue. C'mon. The assumption that we are just "courier packages" and customer service is left behind really scares me. Instead of investing resources and time in how to "take benefits out" in order to reduce costs by affecting end-users but benefiting airlines, they should be working in ways to optimize and update their processes with ideas like: online-only booking and reservation systems, etc. What's next?

I think the idea of having some experts in Social Media and Networking on his campaign team paid off. He took the risk to expose all of his strategy and proposals online in order for everyone in the internet to participate in the debate. He and his team have proved that you can leverage internet technologies even in unexplored scenarios.

As Rachel just commented, living without plane transportation is not a reality. I think all government and corporate initiatives should be pointing to find alternate fuel solutions for airplanes (mainly responsible for high fare prices). I would suggest using electric engines and implementing solar energy by using airplane's surface. Some of this initiatives have been tested before and could lead us to new ways of air transportation.
